Rehearsed reading of A Dream of Red Pavilions

The London Hub in association with Yellow Earth Theatre presents a rehearsed reading of A Dream of Red PavilionsProgramme.

Written, performed and directed entirely by British East Asian (BEA) artists, this presentation will be a showcase for the industry. It follows Opening the Door, an event organised by Arts Council England, Equity, SOLT/TMA, CDG and the Young Vic to address the lack of employment opportunities for BEA artists in UK theatre.

Jeremy Tiang’s new adaptation of Cao Xueqin’s sumptuous novel charts the rise and fall of the aristocratic Jia family, at a time when great social change is about to befall China. Set in the 18th Century amid China’s wealthy one percent, this is a timely tale of obscene wealth leading to self-destruction.

The reading took place on Friday 1st March at Bush Theatre.
